The official dossier of Ravenna2019 arrived this morning in Rome.
The Mayor of Ravenna Fabrizio Matteucci, accompanied by Alberto Cassani and Nadia Carboni, coordinator and project manager of Ravenna2019 have delivered the document with which Ravenna applies to become “European Capital of Culture for 2019.” The appointment was at the headquarters of the Ministry of Cultural Heritage and Activities and Tourism (Mibact) that manages on behalf of the Government the assignment of the European title.
And the participation of citizens and Romagna is really a hallmark of Ravenna2019: “this is a formal and substantial moment – said Matteucci – because in the 115 pages we have prepared is enclosed in the choral work of a territory, an unprecedented common effort to redesign Ravenna and Romagna in the near future: a heritage that anyway can not and should not be dispersed. We have always said and I repeat today: if we win, we will gladly co-operate with each finalist which will want to continue the journey with us, because the title of 2019 is an extraordinary opportunity for Italy as a whole; the same way we reiterate our willingness to cooperate if another city will be selected.”
“We are pleased with the dossier and the work done – said Cassani – because we believe we have effectively followed to the recommendations of the Selection Committee. We prepare now with commitment and enthusiasm for the visit of the jury and the final hearing. »
In fact, only two steps separate from Ravenna final verdict: the visit to the city of a representative of the International Jury, on October 13, and the hearing to Mibact staff Ravenna2019 which will take place on the same day of the designation of the “Capital”, on October 17.
The staff of Ravenna2019 is excited about the dossier and can not wait for October 13th in order to prove to the jury how Raenna deserves to become the next European Capital of Culture!
